Racing Santander vs Real Madrid is one of the most unusual La Liga fixtures on the November calendar. Real Madrid travel to El Sardinero on Sunday, 1 November, with kick-off scheduled for 16:15 local time in Spain.
The match is part of La Liga Matchday 11. Because Racing are back on this stage against one of Spain’s biggest clubs, the game carries more than routine league interest. The atmosphere at El Sardinero should also make this a very different test from a standard home fixture at the Bernabéu.
Why Real Madrid must stay focused
Matches like this can become uncomfortable if the favourite allows the home crowd to grow into the contest. Therefore, Madrid will want to control possession early, avoid cheap turnovers and force Racing to defend for long periods.
Racing, meanwhile, can approach the game with less pressure. Their best route may be to stay compact, attack transitions and make set pieces count. The longer the score stays level, the more confidence the home side can build.
What to watch at El Sardinero
Real Madrid’s patience will be important. They should have more of the ball, but that does not automatically create clear chances. Movement between the lines and quick switches of play could be decisive against a deep block.
The fixture also gives Racing an opportunity to measure themselves against elite opposition in front of their own supporters. For Madrid, there is little benefit in allowing the match to become emotional or stretched. A professional away performance would mean controlling territory, limiting counters and making their superior individual quality count over 90 minutes. Small details could decide it.
Racing Santander vs Real Madrid: time in Nigeria
Real Madrid confirm a 16:15 kick-off in mainland Spain on 1 November 2026. That is also 16:15 in Nigeria and Kinshasa, and 15:15 GMT. The match takes place at El Sardinero.
The clock is useful for supporters following from Africa, but television rights vary by country. A Spanish broadcast listing does not confirm availability in Nigeria or DR Congo. Check the local rights holder’s schedule before paying for a subscription solely for this match.
